ENGLISH & WELSH CIVIL & SOCIAL JUSTICE SURVEY
The English & Welsh Civil and Social Justice Survey is a large-
scale nationally representative household survey of people's experience of, and and responses to, civil justice problems.
RESEARCH ON COMMUNITY LEGAL ADVICE NETWORKS AND CENTRES
The LSRC is responsible for an in-
depth research and evaluation project on Community Legal Advice Centres (CLACs) and Community Legal Advice Networks (CLANs). Research is being conducted by the LSRC, and Manchester Metropolitan University with Cardiff University

USERS PERSPECTIVES ON THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM
This study included a survey of almost 1,000 people drawn into the criminal justice system. Interviews were carried out in police stations and magistrates’ courts. Amongst other things, it explores user understanding of the criminal process and also their choice of a solicitor.
DEBT OUTREACH ADVICE
This project was a multi-
phased research and evaluation project on outreach advice for debt problems in England and Wales. It encompassed multiple perspectives and used a variety of research methods to examine the impact of outreach debt advice and processes involved.

DIVERSITY
The Diversity Project involves monitoring the diversity of the Legal Services Commission's provider base, including the ethnicity, gender, illness/disability and age profile of service providers.
SPATIAL DIMENSIONS OF LEGAL NEED
This project looks at how geography impacts on patterns of vulnerability, advice-
seeking behaviour, awareness of services, andservice accessibility and use. .
Youth Court Study
The Youth Court study had a particular focus on identifying the causes of inefficiencies and delays. A multi-
disciplinary approach was adopted when examining the processing of cases in Youth Courts. The methods included a review of case files, interviews and observations.
