By Air
Cambridge is conveniently located for Stansted Airport, Britain's third-busiest airport, with flights from more than 160 destinations in over 30 countries. Trains from Stansted Airport to Cambridge take from half an hour, and there is also a regular direct coach link.
For those travelling via London Heathrow or Gatwick airports, direct coach services are also available. Also, from Heathrow, London Underground has direct services (Piccadilly line) to London Kings Cross (for Cambridge trains). The Heathrow Express terminates at London Paddington Station, from where London Kings Cross is a 20 minute Underground journey (Circle line, Hammersmith and City line, eastbound). From Gatwick, Thameslink rail services run to London St. Pancras Station, which is adjacent to London Kings Cross. The Gatwick Express terminates at London Victoria Station, from where London Kings Cross is a 20 minute Underground journey (Victoria line, northbound).
By Train
Cambridge is under one hour from London Kings Cross (adjacent to London St. Pancras for Eurostar connections), with alternative routing from London Liverpool Street if more convenient. Downing College is situated about ¾ of a mile from the station and is served by regular buses (towards the city centre) and taxis.
Cambridge is also served by direct trains from Stansted Airport, which take around half an hour.

By Coach
Cambridge is well served by coach links from major towns & cities throughout Britain. Cambridge's main coach station, Drummer Street is only a 5 minutes’ walk from Downing College.
There are frequent coach services from both Central London, and London Stansted Airport through to the city.
By Bus
Cambridge's main bus station, Drummer Street is only a 5 minutes walk from the College.
By Road
From London / Stansted Airport
· Leave London / Stansted Airport on the M11, northbound.
· Exit M11 at Junction 11 and turn right at the roundabout
· Follow signs to Cambridge go straight on for about 3 miles
· At the two mini roundabouts go straight on at the first and turn right at the second
· After 400 metres there is a large crossroads - on your right is a large church. Turn left at this junction (into Regent Street) and continue for 300 metres – The gates for Downing College are located on the left hand side.
From A14 Huntingdon (from the Midlands, North and West), Southbound
· Take A1307 to Cambridge from the A14 sign posted City centre. After 1 mile you will arrive at traffic lights and a large junction
· Go straight on, and down the hill to another crossroad and turn right (Ring Road)
· Bear left at the mini-roundabout, continuing along the Backs of the colleges
· Go straight on at the lights and left at the next roundabout. Follow the road straight on
· You will come to a mini roundabout and go left here, then immediately right at a second mini-roundabout
· Turn left at the crossroads (There is a large church on your right) into Regent Street and continue for 300 metres - you will see the Downing College on the left hand side.
