An edited collection of papers from the sixth LSRC International Research Conference was published in May 2007. It features eight of the best papers presented at the conference, along with an introduction from the editors.

The eight papers - investigating the social context of legal problems, the social context of problem resolution strategies, the impact of problems on individuals and wider society, the accessibility of legal services and the funding of legal services - provide a range of perspectives on some of the central issues relating to the link between law and social process. The papers, drawn from six jurisdictions around the world, also detail important new findings from a number of empirical legal studies, employing a variety of methodologies, that delve deep into the experience of both those who are affected by and who give effect to law.
